LG has gone to town on texters with the LG Town GT350, the first in its new ‘town’ range of phones targeted at social butterflies.
The Town GT350 is a touchscreen phone with a slide-out Qwerty keyboard, which includes cryptically labelled shortcut keys that you can set up to open your favourite social-networking sites.
You can also get your updates on the 76mm (3-inch) home screen with a widget that shows a live social-network feed. We hope it’s more informative than the mocked-up Facebook widget shown in this press photo, but we’ll have to wait and see until we get the Town GT350 in for a full review.
There’s a basic-looking 2-megapixel camera on board, and photos can be shared over your social networks, email or MMS. We’re happy to see Wi-Fi on board, which should keep you connected when at home or work, especially on a phone we expect will be cheap as the proverbial chip.
The Town GT350 will come to town on 1 July. And the name? That refers to users’ “communities or ‘towns’ of friends and social groups”, according to LG.
