LG is cutting the cloth and marking the patterns for a new Prada phone, dubbed the Prada phone 3.0, due for release next year.
LG has released a teaser image of the trendy-as-you-like blower (see above) from which we can deduce that it will be a shiny black rectangle, with a great big touchscreen and a camera. How do you like that, Sherlock?
The drawings put us in mind of the Nokia Lumia 800 in fact, a phone that revels in its brilliant design. We reckon that could be a tasteful leather finish over the backplate as well.
As total fashion ignorami, our knowledge of Prada encompasses only three things — that line in Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It that goes “you got a Prada bag with a lotta stuff in it”, and LG’s previous two Prada mobiles.
LG hasn’t had an amazing year in terms of smart phones, with the Optimus 2X, Optimus 3D and Optimus Black all proving workable but uninspiring mobiles.
But the first Prada phone, released way back in 2007, was surprisingly capable and stylish, earning itself a place in the New York Museum of Modern Art. It was also sporting a capacitive touchscreen before the first iPhone was released.
The follow up was just as stylish, boasting a 5-megapixel camera, though by this point Apple had brought apps to the iPhone.
So we’re actually rather excited to see what LG can cook up this time around — considerably more excited than we are about the Hugo Boss-themed Samsung Galaxy Ace, for instance.
There’s no more information right now, but stay tuned. In the meantime, let us know what you think of this new fashion phone in the comments, or on our Facebook wall.
