A great man once said, “Me want cookie.” He may well have been talking about the new LG Cookie Plus GS500 and LG Cookie Fresh GS290, two social-networking phones with names, specs and release dates newly confirmed.
The GS500 (pictured above), or Cookie Plus, is a 3G handset boasting widgets, apps, push email and Web browsing. It’s baked full of features such as a speed-dial home screen, cartoon-style interface, and LiveSquare social networking, which assigns avatars to your friends and pulls all their twitterings and witterings into one place.
The Cookie Plus plays MPEG-4 video, MP3 choons and FM radio, which you can listen to via a 3.5mm jack. A 3-megapixel camera is included, with the option to scribble on photos before sending them. It’s iced in 16 colours.
The GS500 will be joined by the GS290, now named the Cookie Fresh. It also includes LiveSquare, speed dial, apps and simple Facebook and Twitter access. It packs a 2-megapixel camera, plays video and music and comes in 16 rubber-trimmed colours.
Both phones make their worldwide debut this month after limited European releases. Prices are yet to be confirmed. Remember kids: cookies are a sometimes food. Eat your greens.
