LG announces more phones: The Optimus LTE Tag and 3D Cube

With all the new phones being announced from LG, we’re wondering if the company is going to have any surprises left to show at Mobile World Congress.

We already heard about the LG 4X HD and the Optimus Vu. But recently, the manufacturer unveiled two more new phones for the South Korean market: the Optimus LTE Tag and the Optimus 3D Cube.

The bad thing is that the car’s actually in motion.

The LTE Tag will sport a 4.3-inch WVGA display, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, and a 5-megapixel rear camera with flash. It will also have a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. The device will run on a 1,700mAh battery and operate on a 4G LTE network (obviously). Most importantly, the phone will feature what is known as “LG Tag+,” which allows it to use NFC connectivity with other NFC-enabled devices. If, for example, the dashboard of your car has an NFC chip inside, you can use the LTE Tag to turn on your GPS, adjust the speaker volume in your vehicle, and activate Wi-Fi.

So many Optimus 3D Cubes.

The Optimus 3D Cube will also feature an NFC tag, but its 4.3-inch IPS LCD Gorilla Glass 2 screen will allow you to see 3D objects as well–all without those goofy 3D goggles. When 3D viewing is enabled, the phone will shine with 250 nits of brightness, and when it’s in 2D mode, it’ll increase to 520 nits. The device will also have a 5-megapixel camera and 1GB of RAM. Inside, there will be a 1,520mAh battery and a 1.2GHz CPU.

Although both the LTE Tag and the 3D Cube will have the Android Gingerbread OS, they will be upgradable to Ice Cream Sandwich.
