In what’s becoming a regular occurrence, yet another Verizon MAP (minimum advertised price) list has landed online.
Typically, these documents detail pricing and product plans over the next few months and today’s is no exception. According to the leak, the HTC Rhyme will arrive in late September. Though we have the model number (ADR6330), we don’t know much more about the handset at this point.
It’s possible that the HTC Rhyme ends up being the rumored female-focused HTC Bliss as both share the same expected launch date. Considering its $199 price point and that the model number falls in between the HTC Merge (ADR6325) and Droid Incredible 2 (ADR6350), it makes sense to assume a midrange Android device.
The specifications of the Bliss should include an 800MHz processor and a 3.7-inch display, both middle of the pack for Android phones. Reading the tea leaves in the name, the Rhyme sounds like the type of handset to include Beats by Dr. Dre technology.
Moving on to tablets, Verizon Wireless may be readying the 4G LTE version of the Motorola Xoom for a September 8 release. Should the MAP prove correct, the 10-inch tablet will hit the market on the same day as the Droid Bionic.
While this might be great news for folks looking to pick up a powerful tablet with lightning-fast data connections, it will likely anger early Xoom adopters. Remember that those who purchased the tablet back in the early part of 2011 are still waiting for their 4G LTE update.
