LG’s future looks like a blast from the past, if you believe the leaked mobile-phone roadmap that’s popped up on Pocketnow.
Familiar faces will get a revamp, including the LG Prada phone, the new version of which will be called the LG Prada K2. The K2 is pictured above in a rendering that Pocketnow says is ‘based on images that we’re not at liberty to reproduce’.
The K2 promises to be more than just a pretty face, with a dual-core processor, 4.3-inch screen, and 8-megapixel camera. It will reportedly run Android 2.3 Gingerbread and pack 16GB of memory.
With these specs and a Prada-inspired, textured case, don’t expect this phone to be cheap. It’s rumoured to hit the shops around Christmas.
The other phone on the list that has us salivating is the LG K P930, which could have a 720×1,280-pixel, 4.5-inch screen. That could make it the first phone to trump the iPhone 4‘s ‘retina display’, which has a 640×960-pixel resolution.
We don’t know much else about this eyeball-buster, but rest assured that we won’t let any phone facts slip through our net.
LG is reportedly also preparing the LG Fantasy, a Windows Phone Mango handset, and four other Android phones. The LG Victor is a rounded phone with a 3.8-inch screen, and the LG Univa looks like the successor to the cheap and cheerful LG Optimus One smart phone.
The LG Gelato NFC appears to support near-field-communications technology for contactless payments and the like. The LG E2 seems to be the phone of choice if you’re looking to save some cash, with a low-res 240×320-pixel screen, and a 3-megapixel camera.
We don’t know yet whether all these phones will come to the UK, and some will undoubtedly have their names changed. But none of them show the wacky exhibitionism of previous LG efforts like the Chocolate BL40, the GD910 watch phone, or the see-through LD900 Crystal.
