Disruptive online electronics brand Kogan is set to shake the mobile market, with plans to launch new, cheap prepaid mobile plans, according to the blog Everything for the Man (EFTM).
Unlike most of its competitors, Kogan will resell Telstra services, but offer it for much cheaper, according to the blog’s sources. Pricing options will be similar to the structure used by Red Bull Mobile, charging up-front for blocks of time; either one month, three months or 12 months. Every month a user is connected to Kogan Mobile, they will get unlimited calls and messages, plus 6GB of data.
Prices will be AU$29 per month, AU$79 for three months, and AU$299 for 12-months. Buying a full year in advance brings the monthly fee down to just under AU$25 per month.
Kogan is already well known in Australia for selling low cost unlocked smartphones, which the company sources overseas and sells exclusively online. However, there is no word on whether the company will bundle discounted handsets with its prepaid mobile service.
