The processor runs at 1.2GHz, with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of memory on board. The 5-inch screen has a 1280×720 resolution and the OS is Android 4.2.2.

There is a microSD slot (up to 32GB), but it’s worth noting that the new Agora isn’t 4G long-term evolution compatible. It will run unlocked on all 3G networks in Australia.

The phone measures 144x74x11mm and weighs in at 153g, with an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel forward-facing camera.

The ever-bombastic Ruslan Kogan is declaring the Agora Quad-Core to be a challenge to the likes of Apple, saying that “some big tech companies think they can launch a phone for the budget-conscious consumer and still price it at over AU$700 — at Kogan, we know better”.

The smartphone will also be available for the US and UK markets, priced at US$189 and £149, respectively.
