KitKat coming to HTC One ‘very, very soon’

KitKat is coming to the HTC One “very, very soon”. The latest Android update, announced today, makes its debut on the new Google Nexus 5, and HTC’s flagship isn’t far behind.

HTC’s senior global online communications manager Jeff Gordon tweeted that he’s not ordering a Nexus 5 today, but is “looking forward to getting KitKat on my HTC One very, very soon.”

In a press release sent to CNET, Google revealed that Android 4.4 KitKat will land on its own Nexus 4 phone and Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 tablets “in the coming weeks“.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Google edition and HTC One Google edition will also be updated at the same time. I’ve asked HTC to clarify whether Jeff Gordon’s tweets refer to the Google Edition or the regular shop-bought model.

Is the HTC One the number one Android phone? What do you think of KitKat and the Nexus 5? Tell me your thoughts in the comments or on our Facebook wall.
