Tyres squealing, the new Motorola Moto G for 2014 hits the road this summer, and if the regular version isn’t fast enough there’s also a Ferrari version. As a great man once said, it is so choice — if you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.

The Ferrari Edition of the new Moto G boasts a Kevlar back, although why it isn’t red is beyond me. Sadly for dedicated Tifosi, it’s only available in Mexico at the time of writing.

The refreshed version of the Moto G adds a microSD memory card slot to the original G, a hugely affordable phone that’s proved so popular it’s single-handedly resurrected Motorola in the UK phone market. The new model boasts a 720p screen, quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 processor with 1GB of RAM and Adreno 305 graphics. You also get 16GB of internal storage and a 5-megapixel camera.

Oh, and the new phone addresses the original G’s other glaring omission with a 4G LTE version.

The new G heralds the even more affordable Motorola Moto E in Motorola’s wallet-friendly line-up. The Moto E boasts a dual-core chip, 720p screen and 5-megapixel camera encased in interchangeable multicoloured shells.

The new Motophones were announced at launch events around the world, from India to Great Britain to the USA. The Ferrari phone was only shown off at the Mexico launch, however, and won’t be coming to other countries. It hits the autopista in June for around 4,999 peso, or about $390, £230 or AU$415.
