According to Korean site MK Business News, the Galaxy Note 2 will be announced at the IFA electronics show in Berlin, Germany, at the end of August. The new Note will have a slightly larger 5.5-inch display with a 1680×1050-pixel resolution, a new dual-core Samsung processor clocked at 1.7GHz and a 12-megapixel camera.

MK Business News didn’t speculate on any new software features, though it is likely that Samsung will improve its S-Pen applications. It may also run on the Jelly Bean version of the Android OS, and could be the first phone to do so if Samsung meets this rumoured August announcement timeline.

Samsung scored an unlikely hit with the original Galaxy Note, reporting sales of 5 million units between its release overseas in September last year and the end of March this year.
