The budget iPhone we’ve been hearing a lot about could come in two varieties, according to the latest rumour.
Codenamed the iPhone Zenvo and iPhone Zagato/Bertone (I know, but bear with me), both will feature 4-inch screens, but will have slightly different processors and connectivity options, Phone Arena reports.
The Zenvo is said to be the slightly more affordable of the two, running a Samsung H5P dual-core processor, with 1GB of RAM and Bluetooth 4.0. The Zagato/Bertone will feature a slightly faster H6P processor. Both will be 4G, but will work on different types of LTE.
This news comes from a leaked presentation from China, along with the rather delightful image at the top of this story. This could all be hot air, of course, so don’t go betting the farm just yet.
We’ve seen a fair few pics of these colourful plastic iPhone backs though, so there could be something in it. The iPod nano, touch and shuffle all come in a range of colourful hues now, so it would make sense for Apple to stay consistent and offer the iPhone in similar shades. And what about iOS 7? You can’t get much more colourful than that.
This week, we heard rumours that Apple would include a fingerprint sensor embedded beneath the screen of the next iPhone, or in the bezel. This would mean you could lock your device so only you could access it. (Laptops have had the same function for a while now.)
Last year, Apple bought AuthenTec, which specialises in fingerprint and iris recognition, adding fuel to the rumour fire.
Do you think Apple will launch a cheaper iPhone? If so, will it come in a range of bright colours? What kind of specs would you like to see it have? Let me know in the comments, or on our Facebook page.
