Bigger, anyway: industry experts and analysts reckon the next generation of iPhone will finally give in to the trend for bigger phones and expand to a 5-inch screen.
A new analysis from Japan reported by PhoneArena follows theories from analysts Peter Misek and Brian White that the next iPhone will sport a 5-inch screen, making it the largest iPhone yet.
Of course, these are just theories: analysts may have their fingers on the pulse of the industry, but their guess is as good as yours when it comes to what’s actually being planned behind closed doors at Apple HQ. Our question is then, why are more and more experts suggesting it’s time Apple went big?
Apple has up until now steadfastly resisted the trend for the larger phone, exemplified by the incredible ballooning Samsung Galaxy S4, which has grown to 5 inches from the 4.3-inch S2. Yet apart from a small change to a new aspect ratio, the iPhone has stayed the same size since the Galaxy Note was just a twinkle in the eye of a particularly large-handed Samsung engineer. So why is now the time to make a change?
