A new entry-level tablet joined the world on Monday. Brought to you by San Diego electronics company InfoSonics, the VeryKool KolorPad (T742) is a basic slate that sells for $150, a price lower than that of many smartphones.
The 7-inch KolorPad runs off Android Jelly Bean 4.2 and has a 3-megapixel camera, VGA front-facing camera, a 1.3GHz dual-core processor, and a 2,500mAh battery.
Its 800×480 screen resolution is much lower than the 1,920×1,200-pixel resolution found on Google’s $250 Nexus 7. Bluetooth is up to date at version 4.0, the tablet has an FM radio, and it weighs 8.8 ounces.
The KolorPad is equipped for Wi-Fi, but is also 3G-capable for the 850/1900MHz bands, and will net 2G speeds for GSM bands 850/900/1800/1900MHz.
