HTC really needs to find a way to plug these leaks somehow. But we’re rather glad it doesn’t, as it means we get all the juicy info early, such as the specs of the HTC Vigor.
A shot of the Hardware Information screen leaked to Pocketnow tell us pretty much everything we could want to know. Such as? How about a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, with 1GB memory? There’s plenty more too, everything except what colour pants it’s wearing.
So what else would you like to know? The display is a 4.3-inch 720p resolution, according to the screen, and there’s an 8-megapixel camera on the back with a 2-megapixel front-facer. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are also on board, as expected. The handset is running Android 2.3.4 with HTC’s Sense 3.5 overlaid, but HTC could update the software nearer to launch. Android Ice Cream Sandwich is due in the next few weeks, so who knows? We could be in for a treat.
It’ll also be 4G, from the logo on the back, though annoyingly this won’t mean diddly-squat for us Brits. Not until they sort out the 4G spectrum over here anyway.
There’s no mention of the Beats by Dre audio tech rumoured a few weeks ago, and the handset doesn’t have the logo on the back (yet) like the HTC Sensation XE, but it does have the red accents and chunky rubber back that suggest the good doctor could be involved somehow. The XE has beaten it to being the first with the Beats tech though — read our hands-on to see what we thought of it.
So, another quality-looking HTC handset. But can it rival the iPhone 5? Let us know down in the comments or on our Facebook page.
