This is one of those rumors that definitely pan out. Microsoft contacted CNET to let us know that the “leak” was really a typo on the Xbox site. This story updated 12/4/2012 at 3:27pm PT.
A recent Xbox Live Rewards survey may have leaked HTC’s next Windows Phone 8 device, the HTC Titan III.
Presumably headed to AT&T in the near future, the unofficial smartphone was listed among other devices in a monthly questionnaire.

Part of the Xbox Live Rewards survey in question asked participants to gauge their level of excitement if they were to receive a number of handsets. Among the choices were the iPhone 5, Motorola Droid RAZR Maxx HD, Nokia Lumia 920, Samsung Galaxy S3 and the HTC Titan III.
The Titan III could very well end up being the HTC “Zenith.” First detailed back in June, the rumored hardware is expected to include a 4.7-inch Super LCD 2 display, a quad-core processor, NFC support, an 8-megapixel camera and 42 HSPA+ support.
Readers may recall the Zenith as part of a larger collection of rumors that included the HTC Rio, which wound up being the HTC Windows Phone 8S, and the HTC Accord, which is the HTC Windows Phone 8X.
Both the 8X and 8S hit their expected time frames, but the Zenith will likely miss its Q4 launch.
It stands to reason that the Titan III will make its formal debut at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Last year, HTC launched the Titan II, so a one-year refresh could be in order.
AT&T would be the handset’s most logical carrier choice, since the provider was home to the Titan II. However, things are getting quite cluttered over at Ma Bell, so anything could happen.
UPDATE: CNET has since learned that the Titan III listing was a typo and the survey was fixed yesterday at 10:30 a.m. PST.
