HTC has crafted limited edition version of the upcoming HTC One X that adds a pair of Beats headphones.
Spied by PocketNow and dubbed the HTC One X Deluxe Limited Edition (snappy), this smart phone bonanza-box contains the quad-core smart phone, alongside the Beats by Dr Dre Solo cans, which cost about £120 to buy.
It doesn’t look like there’s any cosmetic difference to the phone itself unfortunately, which is a shame. Are swanky colour options too much to ask, HTC? It does however appear to arrive in a fancy box. So that’s… good?
ePrice reports that this special edition set will be available for pre-order from 20 March, but it looks to be Taiwan-only, at least for now. I’ve contacted HTC and will update this story if I hear more.
It wouldn’t surprise me if this bonus bundle did make its way to the UK though, as HTC hasn’t been shy about promoting its alliance with Beats in the past. The HTC Sensation XE and Sensation XL, for example, both come with a set of Beats in-ear headphones in the box.
The One X is shaping up to be HTC’s finest phone in a long while. Ditching the company’s industrial, weighty design for a sleek and slim look, this quad-core mobile has a 4.7-inch 720p display, and is powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, slathered with HTC’s Sense 4.0 interface.
Promising stuff. The Beats Solo cans, meanwhile, are a decent-ish set of headphones — they’re comfy to wear but don’t offer mind-blowing sound quality. Going from ePrice’s photos, it looks as if the in-line remote on the Solos has been tinkered with slightly. You can bet your last Rolo that remote will sport a microphone to let you take calls on the move.
Would you pay extra money to get a fancy box and a set of Beats cans? Or do your lugs crave more refined noise? Tell me in the comments, or over on our Facebook wall.
