Good news if you’ve been waiting to get your hands on the HTC One V — it’ll be on sale in the UK a week from tomorrow, SlashGear reports.
And it’ll be free on contract from Orange, O2, and Vodafone, with monthly bills starting at £20.50, over at Carphone Warehouse. (Or £13.50 if you’re happy being tied in for two years.) If you want to jump in SIM-free, you’re looking at paying £226.10 up front, according to Amazon. That’s a smidgen cheaper than our previously reported £230.
The One V has come a little later than its brothers in the One series, the One X and the One S. The One X is the flagship in the line, with a huge screen and a monster quad-core processor, while the One S is the middle of the trio, packing an 8-megapixel camera, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, and Ice Cream Sandwich. The One V is the runt of the litter, though it’s still no slouch. It comes with a 1GHz processor, and a screen that’s bigger than the iPhone 4S‘s — 3.7-inches to 3.5. It also has it where it counts in terms of software, with Android Ice Cream Sandwich, and HTC’s own Sense 4.0.
It also looks similar to the HTC Legend, with a very Legend-esque lip below the screen.
The camera is only 5-megapixels, but really that should be plenty on a mobile. And anyway, image quality is more about the lens than mere megapixels. Beats Audio tech comes as standard, so your tunes should have hefty helpings of bass, and you’ll get 25GB of Dropbox storage free for two years, which should provide a challenge to the soon-to-launch Google Drive cloud storage system.
