HTC Inspire 4G hitting AT&T Feb. 13 for $99.99

AT&T revealed today that its first 4G smartphone, the HTC Inspire 4G, will be available starting February 13 for a rather attractive price of $99.99 with a two-year contract.

In addition of being the carrier’s first 4G device, the Inspire also holds several other distinctions. It has the largest touch screen (4.3-inch super LCD) of any of the smartphones in AT&T’s portfolio; it’s the first handset in the U.S. to run the latest version of HTC Sense; and it’s the first to offer AT&T’s mobile hot spot service (requires DataPro Tether Plan).

The Inspire 4G’s other features include Android 2.2, a 1GHz processor, an 8-megapixel camera with HD video recording, and Dolby Mobile and SRS WOW HD sound.

AT&T says it has completed deployment of HSPA+ to almost 100 percent of its network, which combined with Ethernet and fiber backhaul, can deliver 4G speeds.

The HTC Inspire 4G is only one of 20 devices it plans to introduce in 2011. The Motorola Atrix 4G and Samsung Infuse 4G were also introduced at CES 2011, but official pricing and availability dates for these smartphones have not been announced yet. Pricing for the DataPro Tether Plans also was not revealed at this time.
