HTC Evo 4G LTE preorder site now up

If you’re champing at the bit for a chance to own the upcoming HTC 4G LTE, it’s almost time to quench your smartphone thirst. Sprint’s registry page for preorders of the coveted handset is now live.

Not only does this follow-up to the wildly successful HTC Evo 4G look like a worthy successor, it actually could outdo the legendary Android smartphone. Instead of WiMax, the new Evo flaunts a connection to the more robust and importantly faster LTE data standard. The device now features a Qualcomm dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, plus 16GB of internal storage. Oh yes, it comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and HTC Sense 4 as well.

I spent a few brief moments up close with the HTC Evo 4G LTE and was very impressed. It’s super slim, has a stylish and elegant design, and rocks a massive 4.7-inch Super LCD screen. What about a kickstand you ask? Of course, it wouldn’t be a true Evo without it.

One caveat, though, is that Sprint’s hyped 4G LTE network hasn’t actually launched yet. Apparently Sprint will have 10 cities lit up with LTE by mid-2012 so the earliest new Evo buyers or Samsung Galaxy Nexus owners can experience fast wireless data is in June.

Still crave a new HTC Evo 4G LTE? Sprint will officially begin taking preorders for the $199.99 device on May 7.
