Vodafone has opened the book on the HTC Desire S. It’s now taking orders to bag yourself a free Desire S on a two-year contract, as well as revealing exclusive colours for the HTC Wildfire S and Google Nexus S.
The Desire S packs a 3.7-inch touchscreen and 5-megapixel camera. It boasts touch-sensitive buttons and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread, with the HTC Sense interface dolloped on top. We gave the phone four stars for its sleek unibody design and slick performance.
The Desire S is free on call plans costing from £30 per month for two years, or costs £100 on a £25 per month tariff. All the contracts last two years. If you pay the ton up front for the cheaper tariff rather than the free one, you’ll save yourself £20 over the two years. Even better, sign up to a 12-month contract, pay £160 up front and you’ll pay a total of £580, a big saving over the two-year contracts.
Vodafone is also offering a white version of the Nexus S, the second phone to be crafted by Google. The Nexus S won a highly coveted CNET UK Editors’ Choice Award with its large screen and 1GHz processor. You’ll need to drop £35 per month to pick up a free Nexus S, but paying £200 up front for the £25 contract will save you £40 over two years.
Speaking of exclusive colours, Voda will offer the diddy HTC Wildfire S in purple and grey flavours, alongside the silver that will be offered by other networks. Price and launch date is yet to be confirmed.
