HTC could soon introduce a smartphone with two — count ’em, two — 13-megapixel cameras. Indeed, a selfie-centered handset may be approaching.

According to Twitter source @upleaks, the so-called Desire Eye is alleged to feature the large-megapixel lenses on both the front and back, with an f2.0 wide angle for the front-facer.
The Eye, as it could be called, is also said to have a 5.2-inch HD display, 32GB of internal storage, and a removable 2,400mAh battery. Additionally, we could see a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB of RAM.
With hardware that rivals the HTC One M8 , the Desire Eye should find a place among the top tier of Androids. It’s not clear whether this model is the same as the rumored HTC One M8 Eye or HTC Eye. Given that the leaked image shows a different design than that of the One M8, I am leaning toward the latter.
HTC has a press event scheduled for next week where it’s expected they might debut portable cameras. Just for fun, however, I remind readers that the tag line was ” double exposure.” What’s more, the invitation featured a pair of girls looking at what is likely a front-facing camera. Could we see the Desire Eye make an appearance at the October 8 event?
