You don’t need a net and ether to catch this Butterfly: the 5-inch HTC Butterfly S has been officially confirmed as a bigger brother to the HTC One.
Announced in Taiwan, the Butterfly S boasts a 5-inch, 1080p touchscreen. The follow-up to the HTC Butterfly, the Butterfly S is powered by a 1.9GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor with 2GB of RAM.
Like its slightly smaller sister the 4.7-inch HTC One, the Butterfly S sports an Ultrapixel 4-megapixel camera with Zoe software, and a 2.1-megapixel camera on the front for video calls.
The big screen is kept juiced up by a large 3,200mAh battery — enough for three and half days of listening to music, HTC says. And there’s 16GB of storage for your movies and music and more, with the usual option of a microSD card.
The Butterfly S runs Android Jelly Bean with HTC Sense on top, adding extra features and a souped-up interface rather than the usual Android look. Take a look at the S in action in this official video, complete with bonkers-barmy ‘Change your curfew’ tagline:
Whether the Butterfly S will flutter by Blighty is yet to be confirmed — we didn’t see the previous Butterfly emerge from its chrysalis on these shores.
