HTC Accord to have Beats audio, 1.2GHz chip leaked specs say

Specs for HTC’s upcoming ‘Accord’ Windows Phone 8 device — tipped to be called the HTC X8 — have leaked online, revealing a few tempting details concerning this mysterious mobile.

The purported specs, which were posted on Twitter by tipster Football4PDA, suggest HTC’s rumoured device will have Beats Audio on board, as well as a 1.2GHz dual-core processor.

That’s not as powerful as the chips in some smart phones, but HTC is expected to reveal three Windows Phone 8 devices, with the ‘Zenith’ and ‘Rio’ reckoned to be new high-end and budget phones respectively. Perhaps we’ll see a quad-core chip snuggled inside the Zenith.

It’s worth noting that the 1.2GHz clock speed is different to the 1.5GHz chip previously mentioned by the tipster — take all leaks with a sprinkling of salt, folks.

Beats Audio makes perfect sense, meanwhile, as HTC has been sneaking the bombastic brand into its smart phones for a while now. Expect some Beats earphones to come bundled in the box.

The aforementioned spec sheet also mentions a 4.3-inch display, NFC, 16GB of storage, 1GB of RAM and a micro-SIM card slot, suggesting that the mid-range Accord won’t handle regular SIM cards.

An 8-megapixel camera is mentioned, with 1080p recording touted for both the front and rear cameras. The Twitter tipster — who previously posted the purported diagram of the Accord you see above — says the phone will have a 720p display.

HTC has an event planned for 19 September, where we’ll likely see the company’s first Windows Phone 8 efforts detailed in full. Nokia has already spilled the beans on its first phones to bear Microsoft’s new operating system — the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 will be on sale before the end of the year.
