Organizing and viewing push notifications on an iOS device was made easier when Apple incorporated Notification Center as we know it with iOS 7.
A quick swipe from the top of your iOS device’s screen reveals a list of notifications, waiting for you to take action or presenting you with information. Try as you might to make sense of the order in which the notifications are presented, it’s always been a bit of a mystery.
With iOS 9, Apple has made it really simple to manage the order of notifications in Notification Center.
You can now set notifications to be placed in single list, in the order in which they arrived, regardless of the app they came from. Or you can manually place apps in a list, indicating the order of notifications and grouping by app.
- Launch the iOS Settings app.
- Tap on Notifications.
- Select Sort Order.
Recent will group notifications in a unified list, while Group will let you manually define the order (based on app) of notifications displayed on your device.
Of course, Apple still included a switch to group notifications by app should you select the Recent sorting option.
