I’ve always been a backpack fan, but I must admit my trusty shoulder bag isn’t really working for me anymore. I’m always having to rummage around the bottom to find whatever I’m looking for: cable, charger, mouse, mobile hotspot, gum. Ladies with oversize purses, I feel your pain!

So maybe it’s time for me to consider a smarter bag, one that’s not so deep, one that has lots of easily accessible pouches and compartments.

Like this one: For a limited time, and while supplies last, Adorama has the Tenba Mini messenger bag for $49.95 shipped. It normally sells for $94, and indeed that’s what Amazon charges for most of the various color options (though the black one is currently $74).

Speaking of colors, this deal is for the “platinum” bag only, though to my eyes it appears “gray.” As you can see, it’s pretty snazzy on the outside. Here’s what it looks like on the inside, though obviously this photo shows a different color:

Made of something called 1,000 Denier Nylon (aka “the most time-tested and proven outdoor textile ever”), the bag can accommodate laptops as large as 13 inches. It’s also designed to hold some SLR-style photography gear — though you could just as easily use those sections for, say, your mobile charger, portable speaker, folding headphones and whatnot.

Over at Amazon, the Tenba Mini scored an average 4.4-star rating from over 70 buyers. ‘Nuff said, I think.

Whether your travels take you far and wide or just back and forth between home and office, a good bag is an essential companion. I’m thinking very strongly about ditching my backback for this.

Bonus deal: The Moto 360 may not be the best smartwatch in the world, but it’s a darn good one — especially if you can score a deal. Today only, and while supplies last, Woot has the Moto 360 with a Cognac Leather band for $149.99, plus $5 for shipping. (In the past I’ve seen only the less-snazzy black version at that price.) Even better, pony up another $30 to get the Natural Metal or Dark Metal band. As I’ve said before, the 360’s health-tracking features are just meh, but for notifications and whatnot? It’s suh-weet!
