By now many of you know my feelings about fitness bands: If you’re going to strap something to your wrist, it should do more than just track your sleep and steps. It should tell time, duh, and it should notify you of calls, text messages, calendar appointments and other important happenings.
That said, the amazing popularity of single-purpose fitness bands suggests I’m in the minority on that front. And if you just want to get a handle on your health, without the bulk of a screen and the need to recharge a battery every couple days, I’ve got the deal for you.
Today only, and while supplies last, DailySteals has the refurbished Jawbone Up24 for $59 shipped. It’s available in three sizes in your choice of black (onyx) or red (persimmon), and it sold for $150 when it debuted just over a year ago. Plan on it taking anywhere from one to three weeks for it to arrive.

The Up24 is Jawbone’s second-gen fitness tracker, and by most accounts it’s a standout in its category. The rubbery band affords real-time Bluetooth syncing with your Android or iOS device, effectively feeding a wealth of activity data (such as steps, sleep and food intake) to Jawbone’s widely praised app.
I’ll let you peruse CNET’s review if you want more details, but suffice it to say that at $59 out the door, this is a great option for folks who don’t need or want a watch. Your thoughts?

Bonus deal No. 2: Calling all potential Mac users! Let’s pretend it’s 2011. For a limited time, Tanga has the recertified Apple MacBook Air 11.6 MC968LL/A for $479.99 shipped. That’s one of the lowest prices I’ve ever seen for an Air, though it’s important to note that this one has just 2GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. That’s ample for some users, but probably insufficient for others.
