Acer pours out four new Liquid phones for 2014

Acer on Friday announced a whole slew of Android-based devices ahead of next week’s annual Computex conference. Set to arrive in the second half of 2014 are no less than five smartphones, a tablet

, and a fitness band.

Starting at the top of the Acer food chain we find the 5.7-inch Liquid X1 and its octa-core 1.7GHz processor. Equipped to support 4G LTE speeds of up to 150Mbps, the phablet boasts a 13-megapixel rear camera with ultra-fast focus and other enhancements. Also under the hood are 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, microSD expansion, and a 2,700mAh battery.

Slightly smaller and a tad less powerful are the Liquid E700 and E600. Each packs a 5-inch display however the former features a higher resolution image (1,080×720 pixels) than the latter (854×480 pixels).

Also present in the E700 are a quad-core 1.3GHz Mediatek CPU, 1GB RAM, 4GB storage, and microSD expansion card slot. In terms of camera, the smartphone comes with an 8-megapixel lens on the back and 2-megapixel shooter around front. Oh, and then there’s also a 3,500mAh battery and support for up to three SIM cards.

The E600, by contrast, is a 4G LTE experience with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor and 2,500mAh battery. As is to be expected, the smartphone is loaded with numerous Acer apps and user interface enhancements.

The Acer Liquid Z200 is aimed at first-time smartphone users and packs considerably less hardware. Here we find a a 4-inch display, dual-core 1.2GHz Mediatek chip, 512MB RAM, and 4GB internal storage. Juiced by a 1,300mAh battery, the Z200 has a 2-megapixel rear camera.

Acer has not disclosed pricing or exact availability for any of the smartphones. As some readers may realize, the hardware maker tends to focus on Europe and Asia for its handset business. We might expect more details to surface when Computex gets underway on June 3.
