The UK’s first pay as you go 4G deals start tomorrow, as EE launches new price plans and extends 4G speeds to 14 new towns.
With O2 and Vodafone now in the 4G game, tomorrow EE adds its cheapest 4G plans yet, starting from £19 per month. And it’s also launching 4GEE Extra, which splits EE into deals for regular speeds and deals for even faster speeds for an extra fee.
4GEE Extra gives you ‘double-speed’ data up to 150Mbps, although realistically you can expect to see closer to 60Mbps. 4GEE also includes international roaming — on 3G, not 4G — if you sign up before 31 January.
The cheapest 4GEE Extra tariff starts at £27 per month, for which you get 4GB of data and unlimited calls and texts — click here for more details on 4GEE Extra speeds and prices.
You’ll also begin benefiting from super-fast 4G data speeds if you live in the green and pleasant environs of Benfleet, Caerphilly, Caldicot, Canvey Island, Carlisle, Chepstow, Cwmbran, Grays, Harlow, Hatfield, Kenilworth, Rayleigh, Southport and Worksop.
That takes the total number of towns and cities covered by EE to 131.
