Ecoxpro waterproof speaker case floats iOS, Android, and Windows

A lot of the protective cases we cover here at CNET tend to be designed for specific devices and often iOS devices. But Ecoxgear’s newly launched Ecoxpro speaker case doesn’t discriminate, accepting any device that will fit inside its waterproof chamber, which also has enough space to fit other personal items such as a driver’s license, car keys, and cold, hard cash.

Ecoxpro, which retails for $79.99 and is the step-up model from the Ecoextreme ($49.99), can be submerged up to 10 feet, according to its specs page, and has a built-in 3-inch forward-firing speaker. There’s also a “patented” waterproof headphone jack that provides the option for “a more private listening experience” (the company also sells waterproof Ecoxbuds as well as the $149.99 Ecoterra stereo waterproof speaker case).

Three AA batteries provide up to 30 hours of listening time and the case comes with detachable carabiner in case you want to clip the Ecoxpro onto a backpack or your belt loop.

I can’t tell you how this speaker case sounds because I haven’t heard it, but I’ll let you know just what I think when I do.

It’s dry and cozy inside (click to enlarge).
