Dell Wrigley, Hancock and Millennium smart phones revealed in roadmap leak

Dell’s Venue Pro smart phone is just the start of the company’s mobile ambitions in 2011, judging by a freshly leaked product roadmap published by wpcentral. It reveals Dell’s plans to launch phones codenamed Wrigley, Hancock and Millennium over the next year, along with tablets Gallo, Sterling, Opus One and Silver Oak.

Taking them in order, Wrigley is flagged for a July release this year, running the “Windows Phone 7 Next Gen” operating system. It will have a 1GHz processor, a 4-inch WVGA screen and an 8-megapixel camera, while also handling 720p video. That next-gen mention is interesting, but could simply refer to Microsoft’s upcoming update for its OS that adds multitasking and other features.

Hancock is an Android handset running the Ice Cream flavour of Google’s OS — you can take this as confirmation that the next update is called Ice Cream, by the way. Due out in September, it will have a dual-core processor, a 4-inch qHD display, an 8-megapixel rear camera and 1.3-megapixel front camera, and will handle 1080p video. The image on the leaked roadmap indicates a slide-out Qwerty keyboard too.

Millennium is due around October, and will also run Android Ice Cream. Its specs otherwise match Hancock’s, just without the keyboard. DLNA connectivity is specifically mentioned too.

A separate roadmap slide offers up names of several Dell tablets too, albeit with fewer details on their specs. The Dell Gallo is expected to appear in April, running Android 3.0 Honeycomb. June sees the debut of Rosemount, a Windows 7 tablet with a screen resolution of 1,366×760 pixels. Other tablets include Sterling (Honeycomb, October), Opus One and Silver Oak (both Honeycomb, January) and Peju (Windows 8, January).
