Another day, another technology behemoth getting into the smart-phone business. This time, it’s Dell getting into the fray with the announcement of its Dell Mini 3 smart phone.
The Mini 3 runs Google’s Android operating system, with Dell’s own user interface skinning the little green robot. It has an 89mm (3.5-inch) touchscreen and a 3-megapixel camera on the back.
The Mini 3 will make its debut — as the Dell Mini 3i — in China, Brazil and the US early this year. Dell says the phone will be coming to our fair shores too, but hasn’t revealed when we can expect it to appear, the full specs of the UK version, or how it’ll be sold.
Dell had a range of PDAs called Axim several years ago, which were relatively small and cheap for the time, but died out with the demise of the handheld organiser. This will be its first real phone, despite the name.
