Perhaps it’s because it has a chin like the old HTC Hero, or maybe it’s because the phone has a smaller 3.7-inch screen. Whatever the reason, the new HTC One V didn’t launch at Mobile World Congress with splashy plans to land on a U.S. carrier.
The HTC One V is the third announced handset to run ICS, but unlike the HTC One X, which boasts a fire-breathing quad-core processor, the One V will ship with a slow single-core CPU. That said, the phone will come with Google’s latest and greatest Ice Cream Sandwich OS, aka Android 4.0.

Other specs are less impressive, such as the device’s 3.7-inch screen and 5-megapixel camera. Harkening back to the company’s Legend class phones from years back, the HTC Once V will be carved from a single block of aluminum. It’s a materiel I personally like, but I’m not sure about the raised chin at the bottom edge of the phone.

HTC says the One series will hit stores in April. While a dual-core version of the HTC One X will be scooped up by AT&T, and the new One S will land on T-Mobile, sadly, carrier plans for both the quad-core One X and One V haven’t been disclosed.
