First shown at Google I/O this summer, Guest Mode lets users share their Chromecast without needing to give friends and family members the password to a Wi-Fi network. Instead, the new mode simply relies on a PIN number for access.
Also available in the latest Android release, the Chromecast app gets a fresh coat of paint that falls in line with the refreshed design of the OS. In addition, the app has finally opened up screen mirroring to pretty much all Android devices.
Guest Mode is an opt-in feature that can be toggled on within the Chromecast app at any time…so long as the device runs Android 4.3 or above.
