BlackBerry Q5 costs £350 in mid

The BlackBerry Q5 will cost £350 when it lands next month, according to the first price revealed by an online shop.

As spotted by Omio, the Q5 and its Qwerty keyboard arrives in the middle of July, according to online retailer Unlocked Mobiles.

Now, we’re going to take this one with a pinch of salt: retailers have spotted the potential for grabbing headlines — like this one — if they’re first to announce a price for a new phone or gadget, even if it’s not officially confirmed.

So, the actual price may be different, but does £350 sound right to you, or way over the odds?

The Q5 is BlackBerry’s third phone powered by the latest BlackBerry 10 software. It follows the touchscreen-tastic Z10 and Qwerty-equipped Q10, and is designed to be the cheapest BB10 phone so far.

It also boasts a 3.1-inch touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera and dual-core processor with 2GB of RAM. The Q5 comes in red, black, white and pink.

Now that BlackBerry is bringing the popular BlackBerry Messenger chat app to the iPhone and Android for free, I struggle to think of any reason to buy BB. But each to their own: maybe some people just can’t quit those clicky keys.

Can the Q5 conquer rival mid-range Android smart phones? Is BlackBerry doomed? Tell me your thoughts in the comments or on our Facebook wall.
