BlackBerry Curve 3G coming soon to T

It’s not the BlackBerry Torch, but T-Mobile’s getting a new BlackBerry pretty soon.

On Monday, the carrier announced that in the coming weeks it will add the RIM BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 to its lineup, but pricing was not released at this time. Much like its predecessor, the Curve 8520, the Curve 3G is an entry-level smartphone but adds 3G support. In addition, though the handset ships with BlackBerry OS 5, a BlackBerry OS 6 update is expected for the Curve 3G in the coming months.

The rest of the phone’s features are similar to others in the Curve 8500 series; features include a 2-megapixel camera, a 624MHz processor, 256MB internal memory (ships with 2GB microSD card), and Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.

T-Mobile will offer the Curve 3G in two colors: smoky violet and graphite gray. RIM added that the Curve 3G will be available from other carriers and distribution partners worldwide this month, including Bell Mobility in Canada.
