The BlackBerry Bold Touch 9930 has been leaked again, in advance of the BlackBerry World show in early May. This time, the Bold Touch has been leaked in four videos that show the device’s basic features.
The four videos were apparently buried in a leaked build of the BlackBerry 6.1 operating system. They’re designed to act as tutorials for using the Bold Touch, which is thought to be code-named Dakota. You can watch the four videos below.
The videos show you how to insert a SIM card into the device, how to make and receive calls, how to navigate the home screen, and a compilation of other basic stuff. They’re just what you’d need if you were a novice BlackBerry user, but they’re not ideal for nosy bloggers who want more information about the advanced features of the device.
Thankfully, we have some details about the phone’s specs from previous leaks of the Dakota. It looks similar to the Bold 9000, with a 2.8-inch touchscreen that has a 480×640-pixel resolution, as well as a physical Qwerty keyboard.
The Bold Touch is also rumoured to have a 5-megapixel camera, 768MB of RAM, and support for wireless tethering, making it an ideal companion to the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet perhaps. It may even include NFC technology for touch payments and other phone-tapping features. The handset runs the latest variant of the BlackBerry 6 software, BlackBerry 6.1.
BlackBerry World is shaping up to be a hot event for RIM fans, with successors to the BlackBerry Torch and BlackBerry Storm 2 expected to be unveiled alongside the Bold Touch. A slinkier BlackBerry Curve handset should emerge too.
