Is this the new BlackBerry A10? Frickin’ A. This leaked photo shows off the 5-inch screen on the device reported to be the next BlackBerry 10 smart phone.
The first rumours suggested the A10, also known as the Aristo, supposedly looks a lot like the Samsung Galaxy S4. It’s hard to tell from this blurry snap though, leaked by Boy Genius Report, which doesn’t show the back of the phone. The contrasty bottom section reminds me more of the HTC One.
The leak also suggests the A10 has a relatively disappointing screen resolution of 1,280×720 pixels — nowhere near the Full HD of its top-notch Android rivals.
Measuring 5 inches corner-to-corner, the A10 squares off with the likes of the S4 and the HTC One, similarly sized flagship phones. But the rumours suggest the A10 only packs a dual-core processor alongside 2GB of RAM, a step down from its competitors’ quad-core chips.
Other details are sparse as yet, but we’re expecting an 8-megapixel camera.
The A10 will be the fourth phone running BB10 software, following the Qwerty Q10 and Q5, and the touchscreen Z10. They’re decent enough phones, but they’re not as powerful as rivals — and quite pricey, to boot.
