According to a UK study, Australia ranks number five out of the 62 countries that currently have LTE networks.
Despite suggestions that the speed of 4G in Australia is dropping as subscriber numbers increase, the news remains good on the global scale.
The UK-based firm OpenSignal has released a study of the world’s LTE speeds, with Sweden coming out on top with an average speed of 22.1 Mbps. Hong Kong, Denmark and Canada follow, with Australia landing in at fifth place with a 17.3 Mbps speed.
The US, meanwhile, sits at number eight, with 9.6 Mbps on the dial.
Currently, there are 62 countries that have rolled out LTE technology, with Sweden, Norway and, bizarrely, Uzbekistan being the first to have done so.
According to OpenSignal, another 21 countries will be joining the LTE community in the near future.
