AT&T to expand 4G LTE to 50 more cities by year’s end

AT&T subscribers in 50 more cities are due to get a bite of 4G LTE before the debut of 2014.

The carrier announced Wednesday plans to roll out LTE to at least 50 more markets this year, reaching a total of more than 400 cities and almost 270 million people covered by its higher-speed network. AT&T’s LTE network currently encompasses more than 370 cities and 225 million people.

The cities scheduled to get LTE this year including the following:

  • Dothan, Ala.
  • Selma, Ala.
  • Redding, Calif.
  • Durango, Colo.
  • Pueblo, Colo.
  • Tifton, Ga.
  • Waycross, Ga.
  • Kauai, Hawaii
  • The Big Island, Hawaii
  • Des Moines-West/Des Moines, Iowa
  • Twin Falls, Idaho
  • Lewiston, Idaho-Wash.
  • Decatur, Ill.
  • Kankakee-Bradley, Ill.
  • Peoria, Ill.
  • Paducah, Ky.- Ill.
  • Alexandria, La.
  • Lake Charles, La.
  • Lewiston-Auburn, Maine
  • Battle Creek, Mich.
  • Jackson, Mich.
  • Joplin, Mo.
