AT&T is making it a bit easier for US customers traveling in Canada to have access to high-speed networks.
The company on Monday announced that it has partnered with Rogers Communications in Canada to offer international LTE roaming to its US-based customers. Under the agreement, AT&T customers with LTE-equipped smartphones — about 42 percent of the company’s postpaid subscribers at last count — will be able to surf the Web on Rogers’ LTE network without needing additional equipment.

To take advantage of the offer, however, customers will need to choose from one of three of AT&T’s “Data Global Add-On” packages. For 120MB of data, customers will be charged $30 per month, while 300MB will set them back $60 per month. An 800MB plan goes for $120 per month.
AT&T’s Data Global Add-on packages are offered in 150 countries around the world, but this is the company’s first foray into partnering with an international carrier to ensure LTE access.
