Swing by the hardware maker’s Facebook page and Twitter feed today and you’ll find sketches of what Asus has cooked up for its first Android Wear endeavor. While it isn’t as clear-cut as it could be, the images do tell us a bit about the device.
The markups shows a slightly rounded watch with a genuine leather strap. The front side of the face could be made of polished stainless steel, while the underside presents a sandblasted finish. The screen itself is more squared than rounded and may somewhat resemble that of the LG G Watch or Samsung Gear Live .
According to a previous TechCrunch report, the Asus smartwatch should launch with a more wallet-friendly price than its rivals. Rumored to be in $100-$150 range, it would be nearly half the cost of Moto 360 which has been pegged at around $250.
We’ll have to wait just a few more days to find out what sort of bells and whistles await us in the Asus smartwatch. CNET will be in attendance for the September 3 presser and will have early impressions and reactions to the day’s announcement.
