Archos Titanium affordable Androids pack two SIMs for £99

A new contender has entered the arena of affordable Android phones: Archos Titanium smart phones, costing less than a hundred quid and bringing two SIM cards along for the ride.

Previously best known for media players and Android tablets, Archos introduces the Titanium phone line-up of four mid-range Android phones, starting with the 4-inch Archos 40 costing £99.

The Archos 45 sports a 4.5-inch screen for £130, and the
the Archos 50 offers a 5-inch display for £150. Last but not least, the Archos 53 rounds things out with a 5.3-inch screen that’ll set you back £160.

They all run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, powered by dual-core 1.3GHz processors with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage. All the phones boast a 5-megapixel camera.

They also include space for not one but two SIM cards. Dual-SIM phones are handy for keeping two numbers in use at the same time; say you’re travelling and want a cheap local number without having to cut off your home number, or you want to keep separate numbers for work and play without juggling two phones.

Although Archos has confirmed UK prices, UK networks aren’t keen on dual-SIM phones, so I wonder if we’ll see the Archos Android blowers on sale from any British networks.

Would you find two SIM cards in one phone useful? What do you think of the Archos Titanium line-up? Tell me your thoughts in the comments or on our Facebook page.
