Apple OS X Mavericks is free. The new Apple software won’t cost you a penny to upgrade your iMac or MacBook today.
You read that right: the OS X Mavericks price is zero, zip, nada, and the OS X Mavericks release date is today. You can upgrade for nowt on Apple computers going back to 2007.
Apple’s iLife and iWork apps, including music software GarageBand, are free too.
Among its many new features, Mavericks continues the tendency to close the gap between desktop and mobile software, borrowing apps such as iBooks and features including push notifications from your favourite Websites.
