One dollar from every transaction paid for through Android Pay will go to special needs education programs in the US through the charity DonorsChoose.org. Google.org, the charitable arm of the company, will donate a total of $1 million dollars from now through the end of 2015.
As an added bonus, Google’s doubling the donation to $2 for every purchase if you use Android Pay on Black Friday, November 27.

The campaign is designed to get more people to use Android Pay, Google’s new mobile payment system available for phones with NFC and running Android Lollipop and up. It’s also the season when many of us are looking for ways to help others. A third of all charitable donations are made during the last three months of the year, mostly in December, according to philanthropy research organization, Giving USA.
It’s easy to set up and lets you use your phone to tap and pay at terminals that accept NFC payments, which are getting more prevalent. Many big retailers nationwide accept NFC now, including Walgreens, Staples and Macy’s.
