Move apps via SD?

I have evo shift that I had replace due to an unfortunate drop. I moved all the apps that I could off to my SD card. When I put my old SD card in the new shift it does not recognize the apps. Is there anyway I can get my shift to recognize the apps on the SD card. Or will I have to download all the apps again. The still has it’s factory UI from sprint.

If you just moved the apps to your SD card by clicking the Move to SD option in the settings menu or an app like Apps2SD, you won’t be able to recover them just by popping the card into your new phone. The app data is stored in an secure/incomplete/odd way when moved to the card in this manner and requires a reinstallation from the App Market when trying to move it to a new phone.
However, if took the extra step and backed up your apps to SD using a program like Titanium Backup or Astro File Manager, you should be able to restore those apps by simply reinstalling the .apk files on your older SD card (or restoring from within Titanium Backup, if you’re rooted). If you used this backup method on your old phone and now can’t find/read/restore the .apk files on your older SD card, you may have corrupted data on your old SD card. But I’d be willing to bet that this is not your issue. Don’t worry too much, because you can still redownload the apps from the market if you need to (yes, even the ones you paid for).

I have had the original HTC Droid Incredible since last September and have been waiting for my piece of Gingerbread for a while now and am starting to think it may not happen anytime soon or if ever at this point. I would like to root my phone by using Unrevoked, Rom Manager, and CyanogenMod, but I am hesitant to do this without knowing how to unroot the phone in case I need to send it in for a repair or by some luck HTC and Verizon decide to send original Incredible users some Gingerbread love finally. Can you dedicate a whole show to the process of rooting an HTC Droid Incredible and Unrooting as well? The Unrooting is the most important process to me, but since I am a noob to Rooting I would appreciate a complete walkthrough of the rooting process as well. You could save myself and a ton of Incredible users a lot of rooting trouble if you could contact HTC directly and find out when or if we are going to get the Gingerbread Update. Originally it was suppose to get updated in the second quarter of this year, but that did not happen and there has been no further information except for speculation and rumors. Would appreciate any information you can provide on the Rooting and Unrooting process and any information you can find out on the Gingerbread Update for the Incredible. Is there a way to block calls on Android phones? I could do it on my dumb phone, so it seems silly I need an app for that. But if that’s what it takes, do you have any one that works (preferably free or cheap).
