The Samsung Galaxy Alpha has been updated with the Android 5.0.2 release, which will take about 1GB. The Samsung Galaxy S5 Active update is even larger, at 1.4GB. Suffice it to say you’ll want to have plenty of battery life and connect to Wi-Fi when you download both files.

Neither of the updates adds anything else in the way of carrier apps, bug fixes or new services. Indeed, this is more akin to a fresh coat of paint with Material Design elements. Smart Lock and an enhanced notification system are here as well.
