Android 5.0 Lollipop a ‘go’ on Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5s

If you’ve got a Samsung Galaxy S5 for Verizon, your wait for Lollipop is just about over. The carrier confirmed on Monday that it began rolling out the Android 5.0 update to Google’s mobile operating system.

Technically called update LRX21T.G900VVRU1BNLC in Verizon’s Knowledge Base, the update specifically brings the lock screen an icon for the phone dialer (to match the one for the camera) and a “bolder” look and feel throughout the visual design, falling into line with the Google interface motif, called Material.

In addition, the phone picks up other Android 5.0 Lollipop goodies , like ways to manage priority notifications and new ways to interact with recent apps.

If you’re having trouble with your over-the-air download, Verizon’s online guide might help you troubleshoot the two-part installation process. Verizon predicts it’ll take about 20 minutes.
