Android 5.0 comes to AT&T’s HTC One M8, original One

Google’s Android 5.0 update has commenced for a pair of HTC One

smartphones from AT&T.

HTC’s VP of Product Management, Mo Versi announced in a tweet that the Lollipop update will arrive for the One M8 over the next few days. The original HTC One , however, should see its own dose of candied sweetness as soon as today.

Although HTC didn’t quite make its self-imposed 90-day update deadline for Android 5.0, it hasn’t missed the mark by much. Thanks to a bit of transparency, HTC smartphone owners also know when to keep an eye out for updates.

As a reminder, Android 5.0 brings about a number of refinements, particularly in the user interface. Employing Google’s “Material Design” principles, Lollipop also features a new notification system, enhanced multitasking and more efficient battery life.
