With the Windows Mobile neoTouch P400 and P300 smart phones, announced at Mobile World Congress 2010, Acer is urging you to ‘put your business in the palm of your hand’. We think something might have been lost in translation there, as that sounds highly unsanitary.
The P300 (pictured on the left) and P400 both sport Windows Mobile 6.5.3, which adds, among other features, multi-touch support and a reworked virtual keyboard. Even though version 6.5.3 is only a couple of weeks old, it’s already looking rather long in the tooth, what with Microsoft this very day unveiling Windows Mobile 7, or Windows Phone 7 Series, to give the operating system its proper title.
The handsets also both have 3.2-inch touchscreens, and offer HSDPA, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS support, as well a 3.2-megapixel camera. The main difference between the two models is that the P300 has a full Qwerty, slide-out keyboard, while the P400 doesn’t. Prices for neither handset have been released, but the P300 will be at large from March, while the P400 will be available from May.
